4.) IS IT SAFE FOR WOMEN TO TRAVEL ALONE IN THE MIDDLE EAST?

On the whole, I felt quite safe. Though women travelers in the Mideast are bound to get a lot of attention, in some ways, it serves as an advantage because people are generally very curious and friendly. they really respect the fact that you took all this trouble to travel thousands of miles to visit their country and in Middle Eastern culture, a traveler is an honored guest so people will go out of their way to help you and I was really quite humbled at the generosity and hospitality extended towards me. It got to the point where I would be asking someone on the street for directions and in the next minute, I'm going to their house for lunch and spending the night. So there's this incredible openness in the people and the culture that makes for instant friendships and for the most part I felt very safe, safer than I do in the States. and I never really felt alone there. I had lots of care takers and guardian angels looking out for me!
