:::zaatar bites

So what is zaatar anyway?

It's basically thyme mixed with sesame seeds. A very common spice in the Middle East. I used to add zaatar to a pool of olive oil and spread it on pita bread. It was my favorite type of breakfast. If you're a bit of a foodie or simply like to eat, try a selection from this Mideast inspired menu. You can find most of these foods in Middle Eastern grocery shops and specialty markets. All the recipes can be found online. And if you'd prefer to get your dose of culture through cuisine, feel free to arrange for a live cooking demonstration at your next book group. If you already serve food at your meetings, then sample a more exotic fare. Go easy on the baklava!
